The S$2 million graduate scholarship fund provides financial assistance to medical students from Duke-NUS Medical School with bond-free scholarships valued at S$10,000 each.
It also supports outstanding individuals from all three medical schools in Singapore who have excelled at their individual or group academic projects, with opportunities to present their findings at international seminars and conferences.
To help Singapore cope with the demands of an ageing population, Parkway Pantai has set up a S$3 million endowment fund with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine to establish the Parkway Pantai Professorship in Medicine and Healthy Ageing.
The new Professorship will enable NUS to appoint an expert in functional ageing, which encompasses degenerative disorders of the bone, muscle and joints, and nervous system. It will also provide support for more extensive research in the causes, prevention, and/or treatment of age-related disorders including dementia. This knowledge can be translated into practical ways to keep the elderly healthy.
Parkway Pantai set up a S$2 million scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students pursuing a medical degree at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
The endowed gift, together with the government matching grant, will provide up to
S$160,000 of financial aid annually. The Scholarship is bond-free and valued at $10,000 each.
Parkway donated S$1.5 million towards the establishment of the Parkway Professorship in Geriatrics at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
The Professorship enables the University to engage eminent academics and clinicians, who help advance geriatric medicine in Singapore by facilitating teaching and research, as well as the development of clinical and community care in geriatrics.
